Where located?
Southern Comfort is located behind the main house in the southern residential area of Egmond at Marshallstraat 3. There is a private entrance with a screened terrace area where bicycles can also be stored. You can walk to South Beach in 3 minutes, with the entrance to the dunes halfway. The town center is about 8 minutes on foot.
The area is ideal for exploring by bike.

Via the stairs to the upper floor, you reach the first sleeping area with a single bed. Next, in the second sleeping area, a wonderfully spacious double bed is made up and ready.

We felt very comfortable. The proximity to the beach was great, yet in a quiet location. It was also not far to the town. And the kitchen had everything you need for cooking and more. We would love to come back.

Egmond aan Zee
Egmond aan Zee is a cozy family resort on the North Sea, historically a rustic fishing village. You can learn more about the past at the Egmond Museum. The sandy beach with many beach pavilions offers everything for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts. Safety is provided by the presence of the KNRM coast guard and the first aid post of the Egmond Rescue Brigade.
Outside the summer season, it is wonderful to walk and get a breath of fresh air along the shoreline. The town center is rich in charming shops, terraces, and restaurants. The supermarket and the artisanal bakery are also present here.
The flagship of this village is the charming J.C.J. van Speijck lighthouse. The lighthouse can be visited for a climb of 137 steps, providing a spectacular view over the wide surroundings.
The entrance to the dune area is 50 meters away. Here you can take a beautiful walk towards Egmond Binnen and then walk back to the village along the beach. Along the way, you may encounter wild horses or Scottish Highlanders on the path. The purchase of a PWN dune card is required.

Surroundings Egmond
Egmond consists of three cores, each with its own character. Egmond aan Zee has the dune area, beach, a lively shopping street with terraces, and restaurants. Egmond Binnen has colorful flower fields and the Egmond Abbey, a monastery still in use. Egmond aan den Hoef shows us history at the ruins of the Castle of Lamoraal van Egmond. Here you can also find the Sancti Alberti brewery.
Egmond aan den Hoef has two riding stables; you can take rides through the dunes. Heiloo has the nearest train station with free parking. Outdoor pool Het Baafje. Bakkum, Castricum has delightful dune-forest areas for walking. Castricum and Schoorl have an educational visitor center located in the dunes. Bergen is the artist village. Bergen aan Zee has its seaside qualities with its own sea aquarium.
Egmond is not far – just a 15-minute drive – from the shopping city of Alkmaar, where the famous cheese market takes place. Additionally, there are many museums to visit, the theater, the cinema, celebrating in the cafes, or enjoying a drink on Waagplein. Swimming pool De Hoornse Vaart is the largest in the area for indoor and outdoor swimming fun. Mega outdoor playground De Batavier or indoor playground Monkey Town also provides a lot of children’s fun.
From Egmond, you can take beautiful cycling routes. It is easy to make trips to Amsterdam, Haarlem, the Zaan region, and Volendam with your own or public transport!

For many years, we have been taking care of the rental; meanwhile, we are experienced hosts and well-acquainted with hospitality.
Our goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible and let you experience a nice holiday feeling in our village.
Rental prices
The prices are season-dependent. Starting from €95 per night, for stays of at least 3 nights.
Rental periods are a minimum of one week, with changeover days on Saturdays. Deviations can be discussed upon agreement.
The rental price includes the costs of gas, water, and electricity. Also included are WiFi internet, bed linen, towels, and various necessities such as kitchen linens, dishwasher tablets, kitchen spices. Cleaning supplies are provided.
Cleaning costs €35.
Tourist tax is settled separately.
You can park your car in public places around the property. There is 1 digital parking permit available at a reduced daily rate.
